Since they were defeated by the Baltimore Ravens in the SuperBowl, this past February, I would say they are the second best team. At the start of the 2013 NFL season, the Ravens will be the defending SuperBowl Champions. The 49ers will be the defending NFC Champions. Hmmm...doesn't have the same type of ring as SuperBowl Champions. Not sure if the 49ers will be considered the best football team, during the 2013 NFL season, but I would expect they will be a force to be reckoned with. I would be very surprised if they had a lack-luster season. I think expectations are that this team will return to the postseason. Although, anything can happen.
