In the first final in Perth, would that alone have justified the Malt being brought in, as all and sundry have stated that this seasons performance by the blues has vindicated poor old rats who didn't have the best list to work with. If anyone coukdve got the blues to fire it was said to be the malt but Cleary out list is in need of a huge makeover. If we get to 8 and that is such a huge if given ports form and run home, a win in Perth v freo would be a tick for the blues season. Not that many Blues fans here but ... A couple of decent sized ifs there. By my running through the next six rounds, I have Freo the most likely candidate for fourth place behind Hawthorn, Geelong and Sydney. Carlton may find themselves up against Essendon or Richmond in Melbourne. I'd imagine they'd prefer that but both are tough contests. Of course - you need to beat Port who are dead set unpredictable this year. I'd reckon that Malthouse would be happy enough to make a semi-final this year. I don't think he's got the personnel to beat those top 4 sides though
On what they've shown this year, I don't think the Blues should make the 8.
